    Jill Hallquist, Director & President of the Board

    Jill (pictured right) is a Tahoe resident taking climate action for her community by offering a way for residents to divert their food scraps from the landfill more easily. She established a residential pilot program in November of 2022. The pilot program was successful, and with the help of her friend, Erica (pictured left), Jill officially launched Tahoe Composts as a nonprofit in 2024. Jill works a full-time job and is a full-time mom while running Tahoe Composts. Pictured here in the summer of 2023, Jill was battling cancer while launching this program. She is very dedicated to the mission.

    Jack Margolis, Team Member

    Jack makes our residential pick-ups go ‘round! He diverts hundreds of pounds of food waste from the landfill each month. Jack has a garden of his own at home, and he is committed to reducing waste in our community.
