Privacy policy

Last updated: July 7, 2026

Tahoe Composts ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to tahoecomposts.com and to our membership booking page at tahoecomposts.as.me.

Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, such as your name, email address, phone number, service address, and any messages you send us. Most of this is collected when you become a member through our booking page or when you contact us.

When you become a member or make a donation, payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full payment card details.

We also collect basic technical information automatically when you visit the site, such as your browser type, device, and pages viewed. We use cookies and analytics tools, including Google Analytics and Google Ads, to understand how visitors use the site, measure our advertising, and improve how the site works.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide compost pickup and manage your membership, process donations and send receipts, respond to your questions and requests, send program updates and occasional communications you can opt out of at any time, and understand and improve how our website and advertising perform.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, and only as needed to deliver our services. These include:

  • Squarespace, which hosts our website

  • Acuity Scheduling, which handles membership signup and pickup booking

  • Givebutter, which processes donations

  • Google, which provides our website analytics and advertising tools

  • Stripe, which processes membership payments and donations

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your information. We may also share information if required by law.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any message. You can ask us to access, update, or delete your personal information by contacting us. Most browsers let you control or disable cookies through their settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google's browser add-on.

Contact us

If you have questions about this policy or your information, contact us at tahoecomposts@gmail.com or (530) 318-7321.
